ABOUT FALLOW DEER:
Fallow deer are believed to be native to the Mediterranean region
and Western Asia. These deer have been introduced to many
areas so now reside in many different areas of the world including
North America and Europe. They usually inhabit areas of open
woods. The bucks (males) grow horns, the females do not.
Rut (mating season) for fallow deer occurs in October. Some
Genus of the fallow deer or family of Cervidae are endangered.
ABOUT DOGIE, BUBBA, RAINY, MEGAN, BAILEY,
CASEY, SUMMER, MORGAN & CALLEY:
There are 9 deer that we acquired from a private owner with
the two males already altered (neutered). The couple hand raised
and cared for these deer as their pets until the owner had an unforseen
illness which forced them to have to relocate to a smaller property with
less responsibilities. They brought them to Keepers of the
Wild where they now roam a huge habitat and play freely everyday.
