Lola is a 15+ year old tufted brown capuchin monkey. She lived with a fellow in Denver for the first 9 years of her life. Then one day he came home with a girlfriend. Well, since jealousy is a primate trait, Lola proceeded to bite the poor girl's ear nearly off, and required reconstructive surgery. When she got home from the hospital it was decided that Lola had to live somewhere else. After serious research, the fellow decided that Keepers of the Wild was the best place for Lola.

Today, Lola is Queen of the Compound! She resides in an enclosure with her habitat-mate, Max.

MAX'S Story

Max is a tufted capuchin that was purchased as a pet, when the owner realized they did not have the time or energy to care for him, they gave him to a friend who was determined to find him a good home.  Keepers of the Wild took him in and now he resides with his habitat-mate Lola.
