About roosters:

Roosters are male chickens.  Chickens are believed to be descendants of Wild Asian Red Jungle Fowls.  Domesticated

chickens are usually bred and raised for poultry consumption.  Chickens are the most common bird in the world and are

located in almost every region of the world.

About Slippers:

Slippers was born and lived as a chicken for the first year of his life, then he developed into a rooster.  Roosters naturally

do not coexist well in one area so a competition began between him and the other rooster.  As the owners realized they were

not going to stop being aggressive toward one another until one of them was removed or killed, they decided to remove

Slippers from the situation.  He now resides at Keepers of the Wild where he keeps our lone duck Daphne company.
